Christian R. Webster

Craftsmanship. Culture. Observation.

"I believe elegance begins long before choosing a jacket. It begins with the way we learn to observe the world."

Founder of Casa Sartorial, Christian R. Webster has dedicated his career to preserving craftsmanship, fostering a culture of timeless menswear, and developing a contemporary interpretation of classic elegance.

His work brings together tailoring, photography, travel and design under one philosophy: choose better, live intentionally, and value things that are made to last.

A LIFE OF OBSERVATION

Before I learned about tailoring, I learned how to observe.

I grew up in a family connected to garment manufacturing, where dressing well was never about appearances; it was about showing respect for the occasion and for the people around you. I remember my mother carefully preparing our clothes for important moments, and my grandfather, always impeccably dressed, whose collection of ties and watches reflected a quiet appreciation for elegance.

Looking back, I realise that what fascinated me wasn't clothing itself, but the identity a person could express through the way they dressed.

DEVELOPING A CRITICAL EYE

My education has never been limited to tailoring.

Living in the United States introduced me to quality craftsmanship and taught me the difference between simply buying clothes and developing discernment.

Later, moving to Madrid to complete my Master's degree at IE Business School further shaped my perspective.

Walking through the streets of Barrio Salamanca, travelling across Europe, and observing how people lived and dressed became as valuable as any classroom.

Over time, I understood that taste is not something we are born with.

It is something we cultivate.

And observation is a skill that never stops evolving.

BUILDING IDEAS BEFORE BUILDING GARMENTS

Before founding Sastrería XVIII in Ecuador and later Casa Sartorial in Madrid, I built my career across consulting, banking, marketing and entrepreneurship.

Looking back, I realise that every chapter of that journey shared the same purpose.

Creating ideas.

Building concepts.

Shaping experiences.

Whether developing brands, leading marketing initiatives or launching creative ventures, I was always drawn to projects where identity, aesthetics and human connection mattered. I was less interested in simply selling a product than in creating something people genuinely wanted to be part of.

Tailoring eventually became the place where all those passions came together. It allowed me to combine strategic thinking with creativity, craftsmanship with storytelling, and business with culture. More than making garments, I found a way to build something meaningful around a shared appreciation for quality, authenticity and timeless style.

CASA SARTORIAL

Casa Sartorial was never meant to be just another tailoring house.

It was conceived as a home for craftsmanship, culture and thoughtful living.

We believe every garment begins with a conversation rather than a pattern.

Understanding how someone lives, what they value and how they want to express themselves is just as important as taking measurements.

We don't simply make garments.

We help build wardrobes that evolve alongside the people who wear them.

A HOUSE OF CURATION

Every fabric.

Every shoemaker.

Every tie.

Every hat.

Every artisan.

Every object you find at Casa Sartorial has been chosen with intention.

We are not interested in offering endless options.

We are interested in offering the right ones.

Behind every brand we represent are people who share our values: craftsmanship, authenticity, integrity and an uncompromising commitment to quality.

If I wouldn't proudly wear it myself, it doesn't belong in our house.

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

My greatest sources of inspiration are often found in the quiet, unplanned moments of everyday life.

They come from architecture.

Photography.

Travel.

Craftsmanship.

Books.

Food.

Historic cities.

Independent businesses.

And, above all, from people who dedicate their lives to doing one thing exceptionally well.

I find inspiration in a craftsman at work, a café with soul, a conversation with a shopkeeper, the light falling across an old building, or the effortless elegance of someone walking through a city.

These moments remind me that authenticity can never be manufactured, and that true excellence is almost always found in the details.

Amplifying Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship deserves to be seen.

It deserves to be understood.

And above all, it deserves to be shared.

That is why I write, photograph, travel and organise events.

Not to promote products, but to tell the stories behind them.

I believe our responsibility extends beyond making garments.

We have a responsibility to preserve traditional crafts by making them relevant to a new generation.

Whether through tailoring, handmade hats, photography or conversations with artisans, my goal is always the same:

To help more people appreciate the beauty of things made well.

Because preserving craftsmanship begins by sharing its story.
